This icon is for those who are the most vulnerable among us. The migrant, the refugee, the foreigner and “the other”. The children in Gaza, those being detained by I<e, the innocent families in Yemen and Iran. Ukraine, Sudan and Congo and around the world in the path of war. Lord Have Mercy. 

“Our Lady Protectress” is a title used in Christianity, particularly within the Catholic and Orthodox traditions, to refer to Mary as a powerful intercessor and protector.
